The TCF is a test which has been designed to
evaluate candidates’skills in French as a foreign language. It is open
to candidates of all ages and nationalities and does not require any specific
training.
The TCF is a multiple-choice test comprising 80 items. It is composed
of three compulsory sub tests:
- listening;
- command of grammatical structures;
- reading
These sub tests are electronically marked at the CIEP.
Total duration of the compulsory sub tests: 1 hour 30 minutes
In addition, candidates may also take 2 additional sub tests in written
and spoken French. Total duration of the optional sub tests: 2 hours
A candidate’s TCF score determines his/ her level on a scale defined by
the Council of Europe. The score obtained reliably reflects a candidate’s
knowledge of the French language.
The candidates will receive a certificate of their TCF results 2 weeks
after the test.
In certain cases, succesful TCF candidates may go on to directly sit the
2nd stage DELF or DALF examination.
A reliable instrument: TCF was designed by a team of experts from the CIEP-Centre international d’études péda-gogiques (Etablissement public du Ministère de l’Education nationale). Designed to facilitate international exchange and professional mobility, the TCF is geared towards foreign learners of French who are looking for a simple and reliable means of having their French language skills officially recognized.

Payments
- Tuition fees are to be paid in full at the time of registration.
- Payments may be done by check, cash or credit card (Visa, Mastercard or Amex).
Refunds
- Fees are NON-TRANSFERABLE and NON-REFUNDABLE. However, if demand is made in writing before the beginning of the first class, fees will be refunded. A flat $50.00 administrative fee will then be deducted.
- There will be no refund after the first class has started.
- No refunds, credit, or reimbursement will be given for classes not taken.
Credits
- If demand is made in writing, fees paid for one session (full fees or part of the fees) can be credited for the following session. If demand is made prior to the beginning of the class, full fees will be credited for the following session. If demand is made within the first two weeks of classes, and if no class has been attended, 50% of the fees will be credited for the following session.
- The credit notes may be renewed once only.
Cancelation of Classes
- The Alliance Francaise de Miami reserves its right to change the timing of a class or to cancel a class if deemed necessary. Payments are then refunded in full. Top
