FIU Opera Theatre presents a concert of arias, duets and ensembles from the greatest of French grand operas, including "Carmen," "Faust," "Manon," "Romeo et Juliette," and more.
Friday, February 17 – 7:30 pm / Amernet String Quartet
FIU School of Music faculty members Dr. Joel Galand, Associate Professor of Music Theory, and the Amernet String Quartet, Ensemble-in-Residence, present an atelier focused upon Claude Debussy’s String quartet in g minor, Op.10. Together, they will place this groundbreaking work in historical context as a function of French artistic society at the time of its composition, while also analyzing it from a musical perspective. This will be followed by a concert performance of the complete work.
Friday, March 23 – 7:30 pm / FIU New Music Ensemble
The FIU New Music Ensemble, under the direction of Jason Calloway, presents a program of contemporary solo and chamber works including recent classics and masterpieces of tomorrow.
