Uva de Aragón, (Cuba, l944), escritora, periodista y profesora. Ha publicado una docena de libros entre los que se destacan las colecciones de artículos Crónicas de la República de Cuba 1902-1958 (2009) y Morir de exilio (2006); los ensayos
El caimán ante el espejo. Un ensayo de interpretación de lo cubano (1993) y Alfonso Hernández- Catá. Un escritor cubano, salmantino y universal (1996); y la novela Memoria del silencio (2002), así como las colecciones de cuentos No puedo más (1989) y Ni verdad ni mentira (1976) y los poemarios Los nombres del amor (1996) y Versos de exilio (1974). Escribe una columna semanal para Diario Las Américas. Sus cuentos, poesías y una obra de teatro aparecen en antologías, en español o en traducción al inglés. Ha merecido premios literarios en Europa, Latinoamérica y Estados Unidos, y muy joven, en su Cuba natal. Se desempeñó por varios años, hasta su jubilación en 2011, como vice directora del Instituto de Investigaciones Cubanas de la Universidad Internacional de la Florida (FIU), donde también enseñaba. Ha participado en múltiples congresos académicos. Recibió su doctorado de la Universidad de Miami.

Charles J. Kropke is an adventurer, speaker, and author.
