Exhibition of Cristina de Guillot
Friday, March 26th - Friday, April 16th
WHAT IF...
“Your vision will become clear only when you look into your heart.
Who looks outside, dreams. Who looks inside, awakens.”- Carl G. Jung
Human forms in my works attend to conduct the spectator to the construction
of a story that is always complementing for other parallel stories. They disclose
some clues through the use of written words embedded or even hidden, as well
as iconographic references - never simple reproductions of original works,
that is not of my interest -, allusions, winks, glimpses, breaths, recurrent quotes,
subversions or footnotes. Some of these clues come from masterpieces and are
incorporated into my work, which holds an own path and telos and plays freely
the postmodern game of appropriation. Thus, I feel entitled to declare: “I’m everything I see, I don’t hide my influences, but rather play with them,
and by that way, grant them a body, a being”.
Cristina de Guillot
Born in 1969, Cristina de Guillot has a long artistic career.
She is part of the young generation of creative artists in Venezuela....

Mais les relations avec la mère, vite surnommée "Folcoche", association de "folle" et de "cochonne", vont prendre une tournure cauchemardesque.
