Working and living in Paris, Colette has created through her art a Universe of her own. Vivid colors found in tropical places fill her work. By using her digital camera, she chooses images that later she manipulates in her computer, producing a collage effect of a new Universe that she has created. There are diverse shapes, identifiable signs borrowed from many of the world's cultures and that bear witness to an insatiable curiosity. There is an underlying element of discovery that fuels her art both mentally an technically. In her own words: "I SEE THINGS THROUGH COLORS, FORMS, RHYTHMS, TEXTURES, ALWAYS LOOKING FOR A SPACE, A RAY OF LIGHT".

COMMENOZ GALLERY in Key Biscayne and the ALLIANCE FRANCAISE in Miami are pleased to extend an invitation to all the Alliance Francaise members to the cocktail reception from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. on March 17th, 2011, to the exhibition : "Colette Birambo Goes Tripping In The Tropics".
