DISCOVER ARTISTS’ WORLD / BIENVENUE CHEZ LES ARTISTES

An interactive program of 10 sessions in French to meet and discover artists in their own workshops, in galleries or in private collections, under the leadership of Martine Buissart, museum curator, public collection curator and expert in contemporary art.The group (10 to 15 participants) will meet at the Alliance Française or at on site - Thursdays from 5pm to 7pm.

Carmelo Zagari is born in 1957 in Firminy, Loire, lives and works in Montpellier.

The Carmelo Zagari's paintings are often monumental performance. Size figures, domestic and exotic bestiary, intense flora, objects with familiar and symbolic operation, mythological figures, both obscure and realistic, portraits of family and friends ... a world, a vision, organized chaos, executed at once without repentance .... on the spot, in a position of emergency.

Carmelo Zagari est né en 1957 à Firminy (Loire), vit et travaille à Montpellier.

Les peintures de Carmelo Zagari, pour la plupart monumentales relèvent souvent de la performance. Personnages grandeur nature, bestiaire domestique et exotique, flore intense, objets à fonctionnement familier et symboliques, figures mythologiques obscures et réalistes, portraits de famille ou d’amis…un monde, une vision, un chaos organisé, exécuté d’un seul trait sans repentir….sur le vif, en état d’urgence.
Sur le vif aussi, après avoir visionné une sélection des ses performances conversation avec l’artiste.
